The Bassoon has evolved more than perhaps any other orchestral instrument, undergoing constant change to increase the range and capabilities, even to this day. Thanks to this evolution, the Basson can pull double duty - serving as a solid bass foundation as well as a nimble & beautiful melodic instrument.
